Ska music hit the British airwaves during the 1960's and became very popular amongst teenage music lovers throughout the country. "Teenage Kicks" host, David Crane, was introduced to this music at a very early age due to his parents owning several chart singles from the period (Desmond Dekker, The Upsetters, etc.). It was, therefore, inevitable that the 2-Tone explosion of the late 1970's would encapsulate him during his teenage years.
David has now decided to create the "One Step Beyond" show to share with you, the listener, a music phenomenon that still creates earthquakes around the world. The show takes David back to his real passion for Reggae and Ska music and was first broadcast during the summer of 2010, but it wasn’t until early 2011 that it was given a regular place on the Ace Radio schedule. With a mixture of old classics from Trojan through to 2-Tone, plus some more recent tunes from the third-wave Ska bands, and also some brand new tracks from both old and new bands, he feels he has created something with enough variety to entertain everyone’s personal preferences.
You can tune into the “One Step Beyond” show on Friday evenings on Ace Radio from 8pm to 10pm (UK time) and you can also chat to David during the live shows in the chat room on the station’s website www.aceradio.co.uk
