Ska Summit is a company dedicated to help support the Ska scene around the world. The scene has been overlooked by so many in the mainstream now a days that we decided to show the world that Ska is still here and still running strong. Our first big project was our event “Ska Summit 2003” that took place at the Xtreme Thing in Las Vegas, March 29th 2003. SS2003 consisted of 23 Ska bands, both big names and smaller local bands, and Ska related vendors.
The event drew in a crowed of 10,700 fans from literally all over the world. Many fans from other countries even picked up side jobs just so they could afford the trip. Our pre-party the night before packed 1,000 fans into a Jillian’s at Downtown Vegas giving everyone a chance to meet and relax before the big day. With that under our belt we went ahead and started up the reformation of skasummit.com.
The website has become an international resource for everything that is Ska. We give fans and bands the ability to post/view show dates along with Ska related links, venues, band information, and personal profiles all of which help build a stronger community.
In November of 2007 Ska Summit partnered up with SkaSpot.com to set up an all new and improved networking system for skasummit.com on Ning to make the best online community website for the rudies all around.
Why are we doing all of this? Simple, we love the music.
