Thanks Roots, Yeah, I must admit that it does feel good to get down to the proper weight for someone my age and height but I sure don't recommend the diet / route I took to get here.

I was on a weeks vacation just north of San Diego, Calif. at my time share there when I ended up going to emergency at the local hospital. It took a few bad days to figure out what was wrong with me....Turns out a gall stone had left the gall bladder and got sucked into my pancreas blocking a bile duct, which infected my pancreas giving me pancreatitis, which keep me from eating anything for almost 18 days in the acute care ward. Wow, talk about heavy pain medication - 24 hr time released morphine and a magic button I could press whenever I needed more dope for the pain.

It took me 6 months to get well enough to have the gal bladder taken out, in the process they discovered that I have a hernia that needs an operation (oh perfect!) and that my liver is f*cked as well, apparently I have had Hep C for at least 20 yrs cause that is how long it takes to show any symptoms, They did some tests and sure enough, I have advanced chirrosis and will need to take a year long interfon treatment to cure the hep c. which in turn will quit messing with my liver (oh, even more perfect) and then the doctor give me the pamphlet to read about the cure medicine - it asks you if you ever get depressed or have thoughts of ending your life? (huh?) Because, if you don't, this medicine will likely give them to you and you will feel like you have the flu for a year - then you will be cured (if I am still around)

Well.......this is way more info than you needed, I'm sure, and I look at it like "this is the price I have to pay for all the fun I had earlier in my life" so I am not choked about my health issues. I take it all in stride, I know that there is light at the end of the tunnel and if I do what my doctors tell me and I keep up the improved eating and exercise routine, I will be fine.
