About Me:

My name is Jeff. I am 16 years old and I attend Monsignor Farrell HS. I am not your average teenager, I enjoy reading, politics, and debating the aforementioned two. When you first meet me I am probably going to come off as a total jerk because it takes me a while to open up to people. However, the friends I do have, are my family, since I never really had a family growing up. I practically live in Manhattan and, I hope one day to study at either Columbia University or New York University to be a Journalism major. However, I abhor Literature, but, love to write. Weird, huh? Well I am the one anomaly of teenagers today, whose priorities normally are their acceptance by the rest of the teenagers in society. There is no individuality left in society, no urge to break away. Even the self proclaimed "non-conformists", I'm looking at you, "scene" kids" have spiraled down a road of conformity. You do not have to pierce yourself in obscure places, glob on eye make up, wear tight clothes to present yourself as a non-conformist. The majority who dress as mentioned in the above sentence look like total fools and are never taken seriously. If you truly want to be a "non-conformist" write a letter to your local senator, mayor, or other political figure. Tell them about a problem with the government, use your freedom of speech to the fullest. The government is slowly trying to take away our freedom of speech through the FCC and the Patriot Act, we must take it back.
