Volume 2 of 99 Songs of the Revolution/ More interesting Project and Ska news

Well the first Volume of 99 songs of the revolution came and went. I absolutely loved it and thought it was a great Streetlight caliber cd. My dorm has been blasting it since it came out and im waiting till they come to NJ this summer so I can see them live. But there 8 albums left:
1 Streetlight Manifesto
2 B.O.T.A.R
4 We dont know the other 2 artists (They haven't announced them)
The sooner these come out the sooner Streetlight will have more original content they will release. The question is when does Volume 2 come out and who do you think the other two artists are. I believe one of them might be Catch 22 that would be cool

In further Ska News Suburban Legends and Reel Big Fish are due for a new album soon it sounds like a great year for ska.

I think some forum members will not be waiting in line for the fishies or SL. I liked SL's first few albums before they turned into a califorina pop boy band. The last album was slightly better but Im not expecting them to make a ska comeback. The fish did not put much though into their last cover album, hopefully there next original album will be better.

I have a feeling the 9 album project will make it to maybe 2 or 3 albums but these large projects never seem to follow though to completion. I do like this first album, they put some thought into their song selection (unlike RBF who took some of the most covered songs).
I love the new album and can't wait for more. I don't think one of the bands will be Catch 22, as they aren't really a RISC connected band and they seem to have disappeared from everywhere as of late. I believe Dan Pothasts band the Stitch Up will be one and I am hoping for at least one solo Tomas album.
I hope if they pick Dan Potthast that they go with his new thing "the bricks"(I think that's what it's called?) the Stitchup wasn't great, but I've seen video of this new band and it rips!

They are called Dan P. and the Bricks. They are a 10 piece acoustic ska band. Not too bad, but the quality of their recording kinda sucks.

If I'm not mistaken, Catch and Streetlight hate eachother ("If you hate me so much then stop singing my songs"), so I doubt Catch will be a part of this. And I really hope RBF and Suburban Legends don't do anything either. Suburban Legends is like dancy disco stuff, and RBF has just been sucking the past couple years.
Well actually Streetlight made up with Catch 22... There acutally helping them book shows. Suburban Legends said in a recent interview there coming back to ska not just a couple songs but a whole album.

Huh... Just googled it and it looks like you're right. Apparently he doesn't even sing that "If you hate me..." line anymore. All the times I've seen them, I could have sworn he did.
Well good for them!

Danny or JetsSkanker, could you please post the link from where you found that Catch 22 and Streetlight reconnected? I would google it myself but I am very lazy. Thanks.
Looks like I missed out on a lot of new happenings in all the time I've been cut off from the world.

Thanks for the news. This all looks pretty tasty.

Is it just me or is SM the only legit ska band that has been legit since the beginning?

What do you mean by legit?? There are tons of ska bands out there that have been 'legit' in most peoples opinion, even long before Streetlight existed.

Just curious what you mean, cause from what I'm hearing you're disrespecting tons of bands out there.

I was wondering the same thing, meaning they havent changed their style ?

If so, there are bands like The Skatalites (50 years), Toasters(30) Bad Manners (35), Madness, The Specials, etc....that are still going, with atleast 1 original member and still playing about the same music.
