I've been getting more interested in skinhead ska recently. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for some good bands of that style, more in the 70's and 80's era along with the specials.

Could you give an example of what skinhead ska is? I mean, I've known of skinheads who are in ska bands, but I've never heard of a genre called that. I know skinhead reggae, though.

Im not specifically asking for ska dude. Im just asking for any bands in the ska or reggae category.

Im not saying the ska and reggae are the same but i just want to know some skinhead bands from that time

Well, this is all I got, then. http://toneandwave.blogspot.com/search/label/skinhead

That and the Trojan Skinhead Reggae compilation, but I'm pretty sure that's just a comp of songs that were popular amongst skinheads, and not actually played by skinheads themselves.

Thanks man, I appreciate it

if your asking for music in the style that is now known as skinhead reggae, then i agree with sid, the trojan skinhead reggae box set is absolutely essential. other cds to look out for are dancehall 69 and reggae pressure: boss sounds, both top draw

I have a few great compilations - one is "100% British Ska" and one is "Mad Dogs & Englishmen"... see if you can't track either of those down.
