Oh no, why? :-( This Summer will be play in Czech rep. on Mighty sounds festival, if at all play, when Loyd knibb is dead. The original Skatalites are perhaps the only TWO original members. It's pity :-(
Punknews.org confirmed it. It's a terrible loss, but he contributed so much in his lifetime. He will be missed. RIP Lloyd Knibb.

Very sad indeed. Altho he had a good crack at life, 80 is a very good age for a jamican! Doing what he did best right up to his last days, RIP

Observer article

Knibb was a crucial figure in the development of ska music as a whole. I'm honored to have seen him perform many times over the years. For anyone interested, here's a neat recent write-up on "The Rhythmic Innovation of Lloyd Knibb":

Does anybody know yet if The Skatalites will resume their touring for next month? I haven't heard of any cancellations as of yet (and I was set to see them perform in San Diego in a couple of weeks).

I've been studying his playing a ton these last few months. RIP Lloyd.

RIP Drummie.  You shall be missed by more than you could ever know :(

Yeah what a bad day that was a total kick in the ass but still going strong to this very day hats off to them
