I know of a couple of good bands that do this in some of their songs including The Mad Conductor and Fat Freddy's Drop. I know there are quite a few ska bands in the UK that do this like Sonic Boom Six and Random Hand, but I was wondering if anyone knew of any songs or bands with less emphasis on a harsh punky and Rage Against the Machine sound and more on a smoother, chiller, ska/reggae type of vibe. No disrespect to Rage or those Uk ska bands, Im just feeling this kind of music at the moment.

Permalink Reply by Toby on November 26, 2010 at 11:57pm me personally id say that hip hop or crap music as i call it couldnt have possibly influenced or been influenced by ska..1 they both came from two totally diffirent times in music...reggea and ska are two pure genres of music and to say that hip-hop had an influence on ska or ska influenced hip hop mainstream crap music is merley an insult to the ska comunity..dnt get me wrong there are bands that are influenced by both sides and as result have made sum descent material but other than that NO!
