Some of my favorite ska bands probably fly a little bellow the radar and i'm sure most of the people have heard of them. The Community Records label pretty much has some of the best ska bands in the country and are defiantly checking out!

So who is your favorite band that you think everyone should hear about?

The Ivy League Brawlers

The Funaddicts are definately an unknown property from Australia !!!! Would fit right in in UK cause of there 2 tone roots !!

Roddy Radiation and the Skabilly Rebels...Roddy was the lead guitarist for The Specials, and he's kicking butt with his own band now in between Specials gigs: www.roddyradiation.com has their music, or cruise on over to http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/groups/skabellion?ap=1 to check out music videos and such.

King Hammond is another...Nick Welsh, the bass player for the Selecter and Bad Manners, has his own band, and I LOVE how catchy and fun his music is: www.kinghammond.co.uk has his newest stuff. LOVING "Mr. Easy Talk," "Where Have All The Rude Boys Gone?" and "Rudest Girl In Town."

Chupaskabra! They're a big local band in Gainsville, Florida. They have catchy lines, and an incredible female singer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9NOa81rZRc
General Tso's Fury is great, they came down to Miami (near my city) not too long ago. I'll be checking out the rest of these bands!

I gotta say, if you have Ska in your name and aren't the Skatalites, that automatically makes me not want to listen to you. It's sad that I have that prejudice, but I do. I just don't think I can ever really come to say that I like a band called The Good Skamaritans, mostly because their name is so embarrassing.

As for my entry... YesPlease

They sounded like Operation Ivy back when they played their punk ska music. The harsh vocals, the distorted ska guitars, the lack of chord progressions that go to the relative minor. They've started doing different things now, so they don't really count anymore. But if you wanna hear a good song of theirs, listen to New Culture.

Oz One from France. Great band, very down to earth guys!
