Permalink Reply by Elizabeth McCoy on July 10, 2011 at 12:06am Roddy Radiation and the Skabilly Rebels...Roddy was the lead guitarist for The Specials, and he's kicking butt with his own band now in between Specials gigs: www.roddyradiation.com has their music, or cruise on over to http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/groups/skabellion?ap=1 to check out music videos and such.
King Hammond is another...Nick Welsh, the bass player for the Selecter and Bad Manners, has his own band, and I LOVE how catchy and fun his music is: www.kinghammond.co.uk has his newest stuff. LOVING "Mr. Easy Talk," "Where Have All The Rude Boys Gone?" and "Rudest Girl In Town."

Permalink Reply by Sid on August 6, 2011 at 8:17pm I gotta say, if you have Ska in your name and aren't the Skatalites, that automatically makes me not want to listen to you. It's sad that I have that prejudice, but I do. I just don't think I can ever really come to say that I like a band called The Good Skamaritans, mostly because their name is so embarrassing.
As for my entry... YesPlease
They sounded like Operation Ivy back when they played their punk ska music. The harsh vocals, the distorted ska guitars, the lack of chord progressions that go to the relative minor. They've started doing different things now, so they don't really count anymore. But if you wanna hear a good song of theirs, listen to New Culture.
