what do i have to do to get a decent ska community around the dallas area... i try to get people to listen to ska, but i cant drag people to concerts if there is none to take them to!!! so what im trying to say is that major or medium size ska bands should try to make it to the dallas fort worth area so i can bring people and maybe meet like minded ska fans at clubs.

yea....man, don't feel bad....it just makes it extra special for us when ska bands do come around....Charleston SC is pretty music the same way....actually, most of the Southeast is skipped when bands tour, except for Florida....it really is a shame...
it is sad man. the nearest concert here is in December. i haven't even been to a concert in months cause there is none worth going to. it is a shame. i hope Charleston gets better to.

yea....The Toasters are comming through here next week, and I'm driving to Columbia to see 'em...should be good times...and we always get the Independents here about once every 3 or 4 months....but you know...there's always a remedy to all this...you could just start your own ska band....that's what I'm trying to do now....not very successful so far, but hey...I'm persistant....hey, at least your ska scene isn't turning into an emocore with horns scene, like I'm hearing from a couple people complaining about right now....anyhoo....I think the whole Southeast region gets the shaft when it comes to show, so don't feel bad...I'm sure you, in a bigger city than I get more shows...for example...Deals Gone Bad doing a "full East Coast Tour"...pfft, yea right....the furthest south they're going is like Washington DC or something....so yea...I guess what I'm trying to say is....don't get depressed about it, cause it's just the way things are...just when there's a good show in your area, make sure you go and support the bands so they come back!!!
yeah we do have the emo ska (skemo) bands and i even go see them every once in a while and i always support the ska that comes thru... but starting a band takes talent which i lack... but we can keep trying.
Knock-Out is coming to Dallas March 25th at The Lounge On Elm St. These guys are pretty killer...I think there working with Voodo Glow Skulls on a tour or something...
Well, if you are a ska purist or an older 2-Tone fan like myself, there might not be much going on, but ska-influenced bands like Deals Gone Bad, Scotty Don't and Less Than Jake are out on tour. Scotty Don't plays Dallas tomorrow night...
is deals gone bad coming to dallas?
