damn.....I thought I was safe here, as I'm constantly getting attacked by spam on Myspace....I guess they attack any social network, huh?....we should find a way to delete all of them...

I'm working on banning all the spam accounts. It doesn't help that we were featured on Ning's Main page. Please list names of accounts you suspect in this forum topic in case I miss any. Thanks!

We've had a few claims of crossed lines with a few members and spammers. Rather than possibly making the mistake of going after the wrong guy, If you suspect someone, respond to this thread and I'll look into it. I do, after all, have the ability to ban accounts should they become a nuisance. Let me at 'em!

I also am getting new members sending me work at home and make 700$ scams.

There should be some administrative spam controls, like CAPTCHAs , email activation before posting or something along those lines, but I have never messed with Ning so maybe not. I use Joomla on my own site (i pay for hosting though) and you can pretty much make whatever anti-spam settings you want, including tons of extra add-on's for even more defense. Its pretty much a never ending cycle, adding new anti-spam fixes, spammers finding new ways, then fixing it again.
