August 2008

August's Band of the Month, MU330, has been playing their brand of "psycho ska" since their inception in St. Louis twenty years ago. They have become a band recognized accross the globe for their exciting shows and catchy tunes. Though the lineup has changed, the founding members, Dan Potthast (guitar and vocals), Chris Diebold (bass), and Ted Moll (drums), have kept the band together, producing seven albums and making appearances on several compilations. The incredible talent of MU330 is evident in their albums but the MU330 experience isn't complete without attending a show. The band has been known for such antics as their chainsaw weilding trombonist (Gerry Lundquist) rampaging through a crowd, chasing after unsuspecting fans. MU330 gets it's name from the course code of a music class in the high school where the original members met. Appropriately enough, we celebrate this band during the month when most American students start their school year. We welcome MU330 to the SKAspot Class of 2008!
